The BBC has announced today that it is cancelling the averagely loved Mash Report.
The news has shocked 6 people to their core with at least a dozen more mildly distressed.
Social media has been abuzz with the notion of ‘cancel culture and ‘being silenced’, but if a TV show being cancelled by a Government installed Director-General at a state-owned broadcaster for its political commentary at the Government’s expense is ‘being silenced’, then North Korea has a lot of explaining to do.
In light of The Mash Report being cancelled, the BBC is appealing to any viewers out there who may lean conservative in their political views to send in their ideas for any right-wing comedy shows they could commission. At the moment, they have said they are scratching their heads because they can’t think of any inherently right-wing ideas to pitch.
The current front runners, as submitted by the public, are:
- Milk Snatchers, a group of comedians sneak around a school and steal milk from children all the while saying Margaret Thatcher louder and louder
- Pin the tail on a fox, a game that entails trying to return a tail to a fox that had it removed in the last hunt in the most comical way possible
- Have I Got Cuts For You, a show inspired by the despicable Have I Got News For You. This version entails joking about which cuts you would make to which sector to make the most people suffer
If you think your ideas are better than any of the above then please email the BBC and tell them about it.
