Prime Minster Boris Johnson has announced his last-ditch attempt to get British people on board with his deal.
Gibraltar, a British island that Spain attached itself to in the 18th century, has always been a hot bed of confrontation between the 2 nations. Johnson has agreed to trade Gibraltar for Ibiza in order to ‘get Brexit done’.
Boris is confident that with this new amendment he can convince MP’s to pass his Brexit deal and leave on the 31st of October. This is despite losing a key vote on Saturday. Many Leavers are jubilant as they thought Boris had given up and Let win slip from his grasp.
An official for Spain had this to say, “Los británicos arruinaron nuestra hermosa isla de Ibiza hace muchos años con sus drogas y sus paletas insípidas. Gibraltar es de gran importancia estratégica. Boris es un tonto por renunciar a esto, por supuesto que comerciamos. Risas en español! We graciously accept your offer, graçias”.
(When we sent this to our official translator he said he wouldn’t translate it as, “Brexit means Brexit”, and you can really argue there).
In Boris Johnson’s full statement he declares that the new British island will take on it’s official British name, ‘IBITHA’.
The scales look immensely in Britain’s favour now. Who even wants to go to Iceland on their holiday anyway. Now we can enjoy a bit of Britain in the Mediterranean.
