Buzz Lightyear to move to Lego in surprising late career move.

It has been announced that Buzz Lightyear will leave Pixar (Disney) later this year as work on the 4th Toy Story wraps up. His new contract is being built up at Lego now as we speak.

A spokesperson for Pixar said “We’re sad to see him go obviously, of course we don’t want him to go but it’s important to let these toys branch out. It’s our fault really for animating him in the first place”.

Buzz said in a series of tweets that “This is been a tough decision to go but I think it’s the right move for my career at this time. Lego is the biggest toy company in the world and I feel very much like I’ve conquered the film industry now. Not many actors, let alone toys, knock 3 films back to back out of the park”.

He added “He looked forward to building new bridges, brick by brick. To Lego and beyond”.

When talking with the animator team at Pixar about talk of a possible replacement they said, “We are in talks with multiple parties, we’ve had some promising talk from the clangers and Woody said he’d ‘have a crack at it’ so we’ll see.
